Fine Lines

Just a quick one tonight. The last two weeks have proved that there tend to be fine lines in life. Especially the ones between preparedness and complacency and, energy and tiredness and biggest of all, fitness and illness (which I should have learned after the accident). Week 24 was a solid week and was feeling so good after my 70 mile ride that I actually started to feel excited about the race and start visualising race week, the race itself and the finish. I said to myself that all I needed was to stay illness- and injury- free. Clearly I hadn't bargained for the early onset of what I think could be a harsh Winter. Woke up on Monday morning with a tickle in the back of my throat and, by the evening, had a full-blown cold and chest infection. This week have had 3 unscheduled rest days and have been suffering. Rubbish timing. But, picking myself back up now and got back on the turbo tonight. 4 days of rest isn't the end of the world and better to get the cold done and out the way, I guess but still a pain and just hope it doesn't set my fitness back too much. Family all heading out to Coz to support me now so even more important that I make a good account of myself and put on a good show!
